Largest feedwater tank in Estanc’s history

The beginning of April has started on a large scale for Estanc – the largest container in Estanc’s history went out of our house. Arranging the transport of this container was not easy and there were, as always, open ends until the last day.

It was a feedwater tank weighing almost 200 tons, which will arrive in Uruguay in 12 weeks, where the construction of one of the world’s largest pulp mills is underway. The purpose of the feed water tank is to remove corrosive oxygen and carbon dioxide from the water so that the plant’s steam-powered systems last longer. By its nature, the feed water tank is one of Estanc’s main products, but what makes this tank special is its scale, which is determined by the scale of the factory. Estanc’s customer and the general contractor of the plant are Andritz OY and the owner of the plant is UPM-Kymmene OY. We manufacture a total of nearly 30 projects for the same factory.

Within 30 years of operation, Estanc has developed into the largest and most modern company in Northern Europe and the Baltics in its field. The capacity to manufacture and transport a 200 T container, 6 meters in diameter and 40 meters long, is highly valued. The product took approximately 4,200 design and manufacturing hours to complete, plus the work of twenty engineers and specialists to win such a procurement and then ensure the right material, product quality, safety, correct documentation, and advanced project management.

Estanc thanks all parties for this extraordinary effort. Clients ANDRITZ and UPM, transport management Ahola Transport and Kaarlaid, lifting works JTH, local governments led by Rae parish and Saue parish, state agencies Transport Authority, Elektrilevi, Eesti Raudtee, Elron, road works T-Konsult, Amifax and TrefNord. And of course our professional and passionate team!
