On May 29, 2025, Estanc held its seventh annual Mission Day, which this time brought our team to the village of Haeska in Lääne County, near the Matsalu National Park. Matsalu Bay and its surroundings are renowned for their rich birdlife and natural heritage, making it an ideal focus for our environmental contribution this year.

Restoring Coastal Meadows in Haeska

Our mission took place in the coastal meadow of Haeska, where we helped restore a semi-natural habitat characteristic of the Lääne region – a coastal meadow that requires ongoing human care to thrive. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Estonian Fund for Nature, and we were guided on-site by Ants Ale, a local expert and the host of Tuulingu farm. He provided valuable insights into the history and ecological significance of the landscape.

High Participation and Effective Teamwork

This year’s Mission Day brought together 68 Estanc team members – a strong turnout that reflects our shared commitment to environmental responsibility. Working side by side, we cleared the meadow and burned fallen branches to help rejuvenate this biodiverse landscape, which is vital for both nature conservation and cultural heritage. The day concluded with a shared lunch in Haapsalu, where we exchanged impressions and celebrated our collective effort.
