Estanc Joined the Estonian Association of Hydrogen Technologies

Estanc became a member of the Estonian Hydrogen Technologies Association (EAHT), which brings together companies, research institutions, universities, and other stakeholders interested in advancing hydrogen technologies in Estonia.

Earlier this summer, we also began a collaboration with the University of Tartu to develop an innovative low-pressure hydrogen storage system. The project’s goal is to create a solution that is both scientifically groundbreaking and industrially applicable.

Why is hydrogen becoming increasingly important for the future?

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and holds great potential as a clean and sustainable energy source. While hydrogen technologies are still developing, they have the potential to transform energy systems and contribute significantly to mitigating climate change.

Key advantages of hydrogen:

  • Clean – When burned, hydrogen produces only water, making it an emission-free energy source.
  • Versatile – Can be used in electricity generation, heating, transportation, and industrial processes.
  • Storable – Helps balance fluctuations in renewable energy production.
  • Abundant – Hydrogen is the most widespread resource in nature.

About the Estonian Hydrogen Technologies Association

The Estonian Hydrogen Technologies Association was established in 2016. Its mission is to promote and develop the opportunities of hydrogen technologies, foster collaboration between market players and government institutions, contribute to shaping regulations and legislation, and support the sector’s growth through funding and events.
