102 ton Pressurized Storage Tank
| In May 2018, we have supplied and installed a quite remarkable vertical pressurized storage tank to Raahe, Finland. At the weight of 102t, it’s one of Estanc’s heaviest tanks manufactured in 2018. Its maximum allowable working pressure is 19 bar.The tank was fabricated out of 35mm thick pressure vessel steel and has fully undergone heat treatment, which was performed at our furnace in two parts – top and bottom halves separately. A circumferential weld, undergone local post weld heat treatment, joins the two halves of the tank.
Special feature of the tank is the unusually thick insulation of 300mm, which was required due to extreme outdoor temperatures in the winter and the tank’s maximum allowable operating temperature of 210°C. Insulation was also done in-house. |
